It won’t be a concern if you would like to get married in Hong Kong but you are not there yet- We will help you along the way.
Why marry in Hong Kong
Hong Kong offers one of the simplest marriage processes, with no residency or nationality requirements. Couples can submit their Notice of Intended Marriage from overseas and complete the process in a few days as tourists. The bilingual marriage certificate is internationally recognised, with apostille certification available if required.
Procedures
For couples living outside Hong Kong who cannot visit 1–3 months before their wedding, we can submit the Notice of Intended Marriage in Hong Kong for you. This applies whether your marriage is officiated by a civil celebrant, at the Marriage Registry, or in a church.
If you choose the Marriage Registry, you can indicate your preferred date and time. The available venues are Cotton Tree Drive in Admiralty and City Hall in Central, but allocations of time and venue depend on availability. With a civil celebrant like us, you can freely choose your date, time, and venue, subject to our availability.
We have extensive experience with overseas applications from around the world, offering step-by-step guidance . The process typically includes:
- Completing the “Overseas Notice of Intended Marriage” form.
- Signing it before a notary public (or for Mainland China, following our specific guidance).
- Sending the original form and supporting documents to us in Hong Kong for our onward submission to the Marriage Registry.
- Attending the Marriage Registry in person to meet the Registrar and collecting the Registrar Certificate before the wedding.
